which brake calipers fit

a job im planning on doing over the winter is a brake upgrade . ive searched through old posts and forum comments regarding calipers and discs etc etc . up to now im edging towards evo 8 calipers with 350z discs along with the neccesary relocation brackets but are there any alternatives from other doner vehicles . i read somewhere that jimmytt used porsche calipers . i cannot justify the outlay for a specific taylored set up like the d2 big brake set up so what are you guys using . caliper , disc combinations . any help on this would be much appreciated ie which caliper matches up with which discs and the work involved in making them fit .

i have looked at some bigger discs which use the original nissan calipers with relocation brackets but these look a total waste of time to me as there is no increase in the friction area .

thanks in advance
