Still waiting for the video Daz (my mate who took the footage is uploading it all to you tube). I didn't see the actual crash. The ring taxi drove awful in the morning of the same day the big crash happened. In a similar part of the circuit where the big smash occured, I exited a corner and saw hazard warnings and immediately lifted and hit the hazards. The ring taxi came steaming up behind and did not lift until he was on top of both myself and the accident. He had loads of time to get out the gas but didn't. I thought "total w****r! he's going to have a big accident driving like that" and a few hours later proved me right. I'm used to cars coming up on me fast/getting out of the way with over 10 years trackdaying experience but this was just poor driving.

Still one to cross off the bucket list along with Spa Franco we did the same weekend:thumbup1:

My first (and only!) visit to the Ring. Did 19 laps and it was a thrilling experience (never got one single clear lap though with all the accidents!). These tourist days are a complete lottery. I would recommend anyone considering going to seriously look at the private trackday books (like what http://www.trackdays.co.uk organise). They aren't cheap but at least you get a much safer (and fun) environment to drive the circuit in. Wish I'd gone this route as there were vans, bikes and coaches going round when I went along with a load of crazy 911/M3 driving mad germans who will overtake literally anywhere!

It starts at around 9:50 and when he takes off again, you can hear the Ring Taxi go into the Corvette..
