NZR - Bodywork Q on ISOPONING!

Hi all,

Havent posted in a while hope your all doing well.

Restoring an old datsun at the mo 280ZX. Got a few holes that I've rubbed down and treated with Kurust (anti rust stuff). My question is can you ISOPON on it even though I've put the Kurust on?

The directions on the ISOPON tin says to get rid of all the paint prior to application, now i dont know if this means getting rid of all the Kurust. If it does me Kurusting all the holes was a complete waste of time!!!

Help appreciated as I want to know for sure if its ok or do i need to get the wire brush out again!!! frown.gif

Thanks.

George,

You can Isopon over Kurust. The Kurust should have soaked into the metal.

Well actually the Krust converts the iron oxide into something else (can't remember what), but what I think you will need to do is wipe down the area with methaylated spirit to remove the excess before you put anything over the top of it.

Cheers guys.
