Ok I've spoken to Greg (Protuner) and the shortie's off up to Redditch shortly

Greg's gonna' put the shortie' on the dyno in it's current guise so we can see what figures we are starting with

Currently the shortie's stock apart from:

Single intake (Blitz I think)

Straight through de-cat full exhaust system

*possibly boost jets fitted???

Now the 'Tzech' engine has to be rebuilt which will obviously take some time and money (it's confirmed it does have forged internals :sweatdrop:), therefore in the meantime I want to utilise as many of the bolt on parts as possible and cross deck them onto the shortie'

It looks like I'm going to have to stick with stock turbos for now as I can't justify pulling the engine just to temporarily fit the bigger GT675's.

Greg will then MAP it with the following fitted. Therefore (and I'm sure this question has been asked a million times before) what could I expect to achieve having fitted the following:

HKS twin intake

Straight through de-cat full exhaust system

Nismo 740cc injectors

V. large Toyo smic's

Greddy boost controller

AEM EMS

*on stock turbos*

Koyorad/Japspeed rad for cooling

ARC oil cooler

I'd like to achieve around the 420-430bhp mark to bring it on par with a certain VXR8, is that do-able with stock turbos without putting too much strain on the '95 (80k miles) block?

cheers in advance

I think you should see 400hp just. the stock tubs really struggle with the amount of puff

speciality Z saw 500rwhp on stock turbos...

and if you look at their drag car on 740 bhp the spec isnt that impressive really its all about the tuning which we spoke about before Aaron

Someone should know what psi you can put the standard tubs up to as they are limited to 14psi ish really due to the injectors so you should be ablke to achieve alot more out of them

its 14psi for injectors and 16/17 psi for the tubs, but they are pritty usless around that tbh.

think speciality Z run theres at 20-21 check the website blog.

should be good for 420 FWHP with ease, someone on here made 437FHWP with them and on 370cc injectors.

Yassa is his username was done at FC tuning

It'll be interesting to see what can be achieved, and if it's all about the tuning then I'm expecting good things

all depends on the dyno

So true matey, sooo true....

Alz.

THe main problem with small tubs is heat soak, once you really start to wind them up the charge temps soar,i know you have side mounts but you will find them very limiting, those tiny impellers will run out of puff very quickly.Ignore what the yanks say, there figures are tongue in cheek to say the least.A stock tubs life will shorten massively once you start running 15psi + also.

I would'nt worry too much about trying to match the vrx8 power, the Z is a about 300kg lighter.

Personally I would have it mapped and running at about 15-16 psi which is more than enough to show the the vrx8 your tailpipes.

By all means push for 17-18 if your having it mapped on the rollers where fueling and temps are being fully monitored, and see what you get, but I wouldn't want to run around on an old engine and tubs at this level personally.

You're right there about the weight, I was just looking to make sure I give myself the best possible chance

16psi got it :thumbup1:

Ref keeping the charge temps down, short of water/meth kit etc is there any other way that would help?
