Water pump failure..

would a failed water pump cause the heater not to blow hot air through the vents, although both upper and lower rad hoses are warm and the radiator is warm on both sides.

this is with the car up to temperature, and yes after a few mins the temp gauge goes up so i shut it down..

i dont have any water leaks at the front, but when i rev the engine i do hear a 'squeel' from the front of the engine area.

but failing to throw heat out of the air vents id asume it was due to heater matrix valve not opening.
