Thread Closed!!!! lol!! Club suggestions??

Don't even think about it!! lol!!

I come back from Japshow Finale and every thread with club suggestions is deleted and/or closed!!

You lot can't be left on your own for five minutes!!! And as for the members....:whistling: Only kidding!

Right so, back to the point -

For me, it's simple.

1. The club bank account grows by "an amount" per year. Fact. the figures are here http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=94723 but I can't tell if it's £1,500 or £2,500 after expenses per year. This is great news!!

2. The club account presently has £25,000 of the members money in it. Fact

3. Since the inception of the club there has never been a £25,000 emergency. Fact.

What a great position to be in!!

We have £25,000 in the bank and we have never needed to use it!!

I'm sure we have insurance so it should not be needed anyway.

My suggestion is that we stop growing the deposit by what ever it is per year and instead spend the net amount from the previous year on this years members in the way of Japanese car events or events of some description.

Let's divide this left over budget into each region and see what events we all want to attend by a member poll. This should result in more localised meets and I expect that each region will want to attend some of the same events such as JAE, Japshow etc. So not only are we doing more regionally but also nationally.

As for the £25,000 I would like to see some of this invested in capital equipment such as banners for each region and gas BBQ's. Yes I love my food!

What do the REO's think? What does the NEO think?

What do the members in each region think??

Cheers!

I never knew we could apply for funding?? I think the Reo's do need to be more pro-active and organised especially myself, Could we not have a seperate Reo section on the forum where we can discuss events and organise regional and multi regional events??

Edited by ZX-TT

Who said we have to go to the big carshows? I'm perfectly capable of getting myself a ticket (which I would have to do anyway) if I want to attend one of the big national events. Personally, I would rather see my membership fee spent on club events. Not national events which represent poor value for money. I did not join the forum because I wanted a tent in a field at JAE, I joined because I wanted to meet like-minded enthusiasts and attend local-ish meets.

that might be the case with you, but we have a lot of people who would rather go to a few big events for the year rather than meeting down a pub carpark in one specific area.

A few big events draws more of the club together, we get to see a lot more of the modified / classic's and also you can get to go down the strip at Santa pod during some of their events, it will also be a chance to start bringing our community back together that seems to be a bit fragile at the moment, im not into forum politics between clubs or what ever, but i think its about time 300zx.co.uk started going to some of the more popular large meets other than just JAE.

if you want local meets please see your local area representative about getting some local meets going, but what seems to be the case, is they organize these and only a few people turn up, there are a lot of varying factors as well, not only do they have nothing to put up (though would depend entirely on location and what type of meet it is) but a lot of people just don't want to take the time to go and do things like that.

with the big meets more people are willing to show up for a weekend as it makes it more worth while than just a day / evening meeting fellow zedders that people can do anyway though out the year if they turned up for the local meets there reps put out.

im pretty sure you already have a section for that if your a REO, and only the REO's and MOD's / Committee can access it.

not sure someones going to volunteer a free van mate lol

LOL , he means lending the use of over a weekend. Its what we've done in the past, im sure its something to look into again, we must have plenty of members with Work vans.....just need one local to the Event(s).

It was setup a several years back when I was a REO, but seems to have gone unspoken of since.

Unless im blind (and that may well be the case) where???

Spot on! IanL volunteered a van and loads of kit but it seemed to go unnoticed!

It can deffo be done just need some bloody budget and willingness from the club funds!!

Let's see what happens.....

Japfest is always a good show and one to kick the season off, i know we have cars there but why not got at it a bit bigger! At SFS we always pick a show season starter, middle and one to fnish the season and it works well as people get used to you being there. If we did that aand had deadicated stands with lots happening that could be a start?

there's never been a problem with willingness from the club funds bud, it boils down to NEO (me) and the REO's to apply for funding for what ever event it is.

Also as seen many a time, what one person things is good for the club, another might not. so ill stick the ideas up to the committee about certain aspects like banners and what not and see what gets the go ahead.

PS yowser, i know what he was getting at with the van thing, i just put a slight twist on it for comical purposes :)

As for IanL offering his van, had i noticed he mentioned that i most likely would of taken him up on his offer, there is always a PM system ;)

Check this out even though it's not the wind proof space age type thing but it gives an idea of what could work.

These seem to be linkable, so if we had say four (one in each region), they could come together, two at a time, three at a time four at a time depending on where the event is.

So for example two pods would be used at a south coast event if south west and south central wanted to attend an event. etc etc...

Unless im blind (and that may well be the case) where???

click "new posts" in the menu bar at the top of the forum matey, it will reveal all, i see you have resubbed as well and need to go back to purple.

Back to purple???

Back to purple???

Your name is now green lol, im sure last time i checked REO's were supposed to be a different colour.

Haha Id never noticed lol, Dammit I feel cheated lol

This thread has raised some really good, positive suggestions. This is what we need as a club! I can relate to some of the REO feedback from my work in the SE (many years ago now!) - hope this results in some positive action too!

i was hoping my JAE improvement thread was going to stay like this with good positive ideas coming through, but certain aspects got latched on to and even when things were said they kept getting brought up.

there are some fantastic ideas in this thread and ill be putting them into one post for the committee to have a look and decide. i cant promise anything.

But what i will say, is that what ever happens, next year we will have a presence at some of the other events around the country.

Nice one mate!!

As the NEO, we are all relying on you to put everything you can behind some decent changes that the MEMBERS want.

I'll say no more.

Good luck buddy.

Decent marquee (dont know what we have right now)

Gas BBQ + Gas etc

Generator

PA system

Disco lights

Banners

Fold up tables

£1500 Total.

Would all make for a great place to be at the big national meets and the club would own them to use year in year out at as many meets as they liked, of course the problem would be where would you keep it all as you cant upload it to the website lol

Let's not get too big too quick!!

If we divide things up into regions then it quarters (or what ever) the size if the problem for storage and transportation.

If each region has the same pod marquee and they can be joined together then we have a solution.

If we have 4 small gas bbq's then we can have multiple bbq's when we bring everything together at national events!!

Gennie and fuel best hired local to the event. Not too expensive. Vods has got pa equipment for the mids and I believe IanL can help out for the south so a start.

I still like the idea of the stick on show plates, could we not make a deal with a plate company like fancy plates or something?? could be added to the members pack???
