Jay,

you should here the motor of the ariel, mine makes a right old racket, although nothing happens. so it sounds like the motor maybe buggered. but i stand to be corrected.

Jay,

mine froze up when I didn't drive my car all last winter - freed up nicely with a load of wd40 and pulling hard. Seems the ariel pulls / pushes until it reaches a certain amount of resistance. Clean out the crap in it and it may go again.

James.

I have done the same as you James. I had a mate turn the stereo on and off as I used some lint free cloth and a can of WD40 and staood there for 40 minutes saying "Off" - "On" - "Off" - "On".......(continue till fixed or pissed off).

I also did this on my old man's Maxima which was grinding its nuts off. I left it with it still leaving about an inch of ariel showing but since, he tells me that it has started going down all the way and does not make any grinding noise at all.

Jaylox, you're probably getting good reception because the top of the rear screen defogger acts as an ariel! Good luck with the WD40!
