Hi All,

What do you think of this price £470?

About 4 1/2 hrs labour and the belt kit is £214?

Really don't fancy doing it myself but that seems expensive??

Price is about right. Most specialists charge more and Some Nissan dealerships are around the 1k mark.

You need to check whats being done though.

Personally I would have the following done :

Timing Belt

2x Replacement rubber water inlet/outlet pipe hoses

Water pump

Thermostat

Ancillary belts

The pump is optional but the labour isn't really any extra to have them replaced, but part prices are about £70 for the pump* and £10-£20 for thermostat. They are best changed at the same time as cheaper than having to strip it all back down to replace if it at a later date.

*Stick to Nissan oem for the pump.

I did mine myself without much hassle... as long as you're very methodical, and understand all the steps before you start it isn't really that difficult a job, just a really annoying one because of the amount of stuff you remove (and the number of times you have to check and re-check the belt before you're happy it's on right!!)
