shell's htc sensation had developed green lines on the video and was producing crap pic's, she took the phone back as it's within the 14days grace period and asked for them to check it

advisor shouted for the so called tech advisor, he came full of it and took the phone behind the store, came back and showed shell a tiny 1mm scratch (literally 1mm) on the back cover (not the camera lens)

he told her that she must have goosed the camera and that it would have to be sent off at a cost to her, she rang me and i told her to cancel the contract as that sounded bullshit, she told them to cancel the contract (again, still in 14days grace period), they told her she couldnt do that either

anyhoo's she came away from the shop as she is crap at arguing (unlike me lol), ive came home and a quick 5 min google came up with the answer, take the battery out and put it back in, software prob that htc are addressing, phone sorted

gonna go in tomorrow and tell the tech guy he is a tosser and log a complaint against him, surely he should have known this as it is a common fault and the seller's have been made aware, telling shell she would have to send her brand new phone away at a cost to her, have logged the complaint with 02 customer service's and they advised to do it in store with the manager

im not looking to get anything out of it, just hate thing's like this as he was obviousely trying to fleece her, wonder how many other's have fallen foul to this

boils my piss, sorry for the rant, needed to let off some steam

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I'm behind you on this one, just like the so called professionals at Halfrauds and PC World, none of them have a clue, if they did, they'd be mechanics, IT Engineers, Web Developers etc. Not working behind the counter in a large chain! As for the guys in the O2 store, don't get me started, jumped up little twerps, nothing more than a jumped up sales man! Go give him hell!

just like the staff at currys last night buying the new Kodak printer....heres how it went

got my printer and walked over to counter to be met by a creepy poxed face kid

Kid..... "would you like to take out extra insurance for 5 years"

Me.... "no thanks kid"

Kid.... "but sir it covers you against the printer breaking in 5 years"

me... "mate ime covered for 5 years on my statuary code of practice for printer consumer buying by a new lobby recently passed in Berlin for printers"

kid..."oh ime sorry sir i was'nt aware of that":lol::lol: i kid you not every word is the truth...

Just brilliant Bri......

What also gets me is that the daft fookers STILL try and sell you the 5 year cover on an item of technolgy that will at best be obsolete in 6 months; and at worst if it breaks in 2 years time, the replacement cost is less what the 5 year insurance costs in the first place!!!

I had a similar experience buying a Dyson for work from Currys in the spring - this thing cost about £175 and the spotty pleb tried to sell me the 5 year cover "for only £180" - I said "no thanks; if it does die in 3 years time I'll just buy a new one and chuck this one in the skip. So if it dies I'm still £5 better off, if not I'm £180 better off!!!"

You could actually see he cogs slowly turning as he tried to take on board what I said.......:w00t:

And who can forget that memorable quote from The Simpsons...."Mr Wembly, it happened again...."

Just about sums it up......:winkiss:

Most of the time I'd agree - product replacement insurance (or whatever) is usually a waste of money. That said, I came unstuck at Argos when my 100 odd quid microwave packed up after 13 months.. Would have been wise to take the cover on that one.. Still, on the brightside, the missus' cooking has improved no end..

Phone companies = Toss bags. Fact

my sensation did the same, but outside the 14 day window :( they wanted to send away for repair

Anyhow, said give me a day to set spare phone up etc and I'll bring it back. Googled the problem and fixed it in 5mins :)

Google is great for sorting out problems, hate going to shops to sort out problems as there geeks are usually useless.
