air con removal

Featured Replies

its easy, 1st find the 2 large pipes coming out for the bulkhead on the passanger side of the engine bay follow them till you find a bleed nipple and make sure you bleed the air con, Preferably not to atmosphere. Once bled, Cut all this pipe work away following it right to the front of the car where it meets the aircon rad and cylinder, simply remove this and free up space. Now cut the aircon pump belt, the aircon pump is the bloody great thing that weighs a ton on the passanger side of the engine at the bottom, simply remove this. Next to where your aircon rad was! you will see a canister that the pipes were connected too, remove this also. you can if you wish remove the elctric fan to improve airflow to your rad however Ive decided to leave mine in as it, comes on when your car hits 104 degrees I believe so good as emergency cooling if ever needed.

Just take your time and you will be fine fella

good luck

fair play 2 ya will the normal heater behind the dash still work or will i pull that out to

No leave the stuff behind the dash, the normal heater will still work

if you want to remove the evaporator from behind the dash, it's housed in a removable box between the fan and the heater matrix. You'll need to remove the entire dash, but then access is easy to complete the removal. You just need to plug the holes in the bulkhead.
