after the car being off the road since 1st June last year, the engine rebuild is finished and we put the engine in this morning, looking very good, just need to spend the next few days plumbing it in and she should be running again, to say im chuffed is an understatement, its taken so long to get to this stage I never thought it would happen lol

Ill post some pics up when it stops raining long enough for me get out there.

Great stuff Craig, what a great feeling, even more so when it runs for the first time!

Started changing mine today!

looking good bud, though isn't your fuel pressure regulator injector rail hard fuel pipe in the wrong place? it should be one rib back and sit in opposite cylinder 4.

balls ive just realised what you mean?? how the hell?? ill have to take a look tomorrow/?

im lost what do you mean?????

Look on the right hand side of the plenum next to cylinder 2 coil pack and your fuel hard pipe is there, instead of at cylinder 5, you have no mounting points for the FPR in that position. We just wondered if you had done something different to the fuel rail.

no im not on a rail im on braided hoses

But surely you still have the fuel rail for the injectors to sit in? anyway, now you know at least you can get it sorted.

Its one of those things that are sent to try us on the zed front lol

ok thats really strange ive just been and double checked the hard pipe and its not bent or anything?? thats where its coming through fron the fuel rail??? so im now really puzzled as to why its there???

I dont know how bud but you have the fuel rails on back to front, that swan neck should be on the drivers side as it goes into the fuel damper.Great stuff for getting the engine in though.:gunsmilie:

would love to know how that bloody happened as it was transferred to the new inlet in exactly the same position as on the previous engine, oh dear oh well thanks for the help all at least cought it early

Check a the front of the plenum and see if the connecting hose is there, it should look like this

attachment.php?attachmentid=61180&stc=1&d=1314477660

As Jim said it looks to be on back to front
