Was checking a loom I have amongst my spares today and noticed some of the connectors are full of a kind of green gunk, for want of a better word. What is this? And how does it occur?

Featured Replies

Its a form of corrosion, moisture reacting with the metal. Best clean off the gunk and apply some dielectric grease, i just had an issue with 2 injectors that had the same crap in them.

Oxidisation corrosion of the metal. Its very common and should be cleaned from all connectors with electrial cleaner. If the corrosion is heavy you may need to use a file to get back to clean metal.

Common cause of many running problems within the z engine bay.

I'd heard of it, but never seen it. All cleaned now. Is it common then? Part of my impending manual conversion kit.
