Probably from the exhaust system around 2-2500rpm. I saw this in another Z. Check out mounts etc and condition. Maybe stressed.

I also have this problem with my '89tt auto import, the one Willie O mentioned. I checked the exhaust and it seems O.K. The vibration appears to be coming from the transmission/ engine bottom end ! I know, a bit vague. The car runs O.K so I've not investigated that thoroughly but I did check the timing and wait for it, it was set at 20 deg BTDC when I attemted to adjust the crank angle sensor closer to 15 deg the car wouldn't start I got panicky thinking about incorrect cam timing and moved it back to where it was. I must have another look at it soon but where to start!

Hi Peter

If you suspect transmission another possibility is the torque converter balance maybe.

zx01473, Is yours also Auto?

Thanx guys

it is auto sometimes no vibration at all

have pushed it 2 160 mph clock reading

had r32 GTR before zx should have kept it

I take it that was on a private airfield! If it made it to 160 then it cant be a major out of balance issue or you wouldnt still be describing it. Maybe some kind of resonance issue.
