ePetition for the cost of fuel!!!!

Featured Replies

unfortunately its not as easy as just lowering the cost of fuel, for that they would have to remove some of the tax off it, the fuel its self isnt the problem as far as cost is concerned.

i think a lot of people who sign these petitions fail to realise that if they remove some of the tax, even a 1p drop, the government have to offset this else where to balance the books so to speak

we live in a debt laden country and no matter how much its killing us to fill our cars, we would be better off focusing on stopping councils spending cash on useless items first to lower our spending as a country on the whole, then once we have stopped that, cut pay checks in government departments as well for high paid people who don't do feck all, stop the ridiculous situation of tax payers paying for government peoples holidays and "perks", plus the second home scheme they run as well paid for at tax payers expense, we might actually be able to lower the tax on fuel.

But then the government is good at forcing peoples focus else where like the unemployed, granted unemployment counts for a large portion of things especially when you have mothers who get pregnant just for the income. but when you have councils (take Northampton county council for instance) who spend over 500k on a water fountain in the middle of its town center, then welling borough council that paid over 250k for a tree to be carved into a large swan in a park that hardly anyone visits, and then redevelop the town center and rip up only 7 year old paving to repave it for something that isn't much better at the cost of over 1.2 million while leaving half the roads with pot holes around the town untouched, and while doing so, disrupt traffic to and from the towns center for over 10 weeks forcing a few local businesses to go bust or move on, then there was the issue of closing the local cinema, local night club, local swimming pool, redeveloping the local river attractions that basically didn't need it, you start to ask your self, just who is having these brilliant ideas, and why we even needed to spend the cash on anything like that when all its done is make the town worse rather than better. yes it looks pretty for the local counselors, but i can honestly say that most people i have spoken too have no idea why they even wanted to change it.

All this and now we have to have half our street lamps turned off at night as the council cant afford to have them lit at night, forcing a rise in crime as people have nothing to do, and no lights to light the night up.
