Hi all,

I have one here for the techies....

I have bought a 32gig USB pen to plug into my TV for recording purposes. The TV says I need to format the device, so I plugged it into the USB port on my PC.

However the PC does not recognize the device when I go into "my computer" - it simply isn't there. But when I click on "devices & printers" in the control panel, it shows up alongside my PC itself as a "mass storage device."

So how do I actually access the device to format it (or even stor data on it), if it does not show up in the "my computer" section as drive E or whatever....? It says the device is working properly in control panel, but I just cannot get at it...!

Any help would be appreciated please. Thanks!

Richard:confused1:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

aaah ha, right click start > in the search box, type Computer management

click the search option under "programs" computer management, go to disk management, and see if its listed in there, if it is you will need to assign a drive letter to the device, once done if it asks for a restart, restart your puter, it should be visible, now just right click the device and select format. please make sure before formatting that it is indeed your pen drive lol
