How does it go on??

 

I know it screws on but it's the gaiter i'm having trouble with, I've got to flappy bits either side of the hole. What do you do with these?

 

I tried tucking them in but when I screwed the knob on it didn't look right :sad:

 

What am I doing wrong??

 

PS. It's a 99 spec knob on a shortshifter, if that makes a difference.

have you tried putting a cable tie around it on the inside, IE, stick the gaiter on, put the gearnob on, invert the gaiter so its cover the nob, and then cable tying from inside, then flow your hood back over, and attached the gaiter to the plastic surround, refit center console and job done.
