Boot struts? Help please

OK,

 

I was fitting seat belts in the back of the 300.

 

I undone one of the struts. As expected it come forward as its pressured. However I cannot seem to push it back in? Have I broke it?

 

Can someone advise before I take the other one off.

    or if the other side is still in place, open the boot till you can get the strut back in position and then do it up slightly to the point you can then close the boot, then get back inside and continue to do it up, just remember what way to tighten it or it will fly out again lol

    Hi Guys,

     

    Thanks - Managed it. I had one of those poles that holds up plasterboards and used that to take the weight of the boot and slowly increase the height. Worked a treat. Seatbelts all in now so kiddies will be safe.
