got back at 3am and still knackered, but wanted to say how I enjoyed Turkey, I`ve always done Spain,Tenerife etc and Turkey is just as good, cheaper but bloody HOT!! 45 degrees most days, Turks are very friendly and the hotel was Fantastic especially for kids and big kids:clown:

Stayed in `Side` Antalya at the seven seas imperial, massive hotel pool, with water park and right on the beach, food was excellent and the staff were very very nice!! if you looking for a good holiday with the kids, i can recommend this hotel highly.

anyway hope you all missed me:laugh:

Welcome back mate, I missed ya :winkiss:

So that's what the smell is - I couldn't put my finger on it, but now it makes sense!

Glad you enjoyed your holiday - is it dear out there? Or was it an all-inclusive? Need to take the missus somewhere hot for a beach holiday in Oct/Nov - so Turkey should be a nice 30-35 degrees by then!

One more thing Daz, the ministry of infrastructure keep getting in touch with me - every time I have to load your signature pic, the whole of the internet in the UAE grinds to a halt.. Not that its big or anything..

Just search for threads entitled 'where is Dazvert - not heard from him for a while - I am really missing him', and you will see hundreds and hundreds and thousands of results come up on about 60 pages :tt2:

ha,ha, went all inclusive and was great, the place is full of fake designer goods!! but they want too much money for it all, I spotted 2 g-star raw short sleeve shirts , they wanted £120 for both!!! I laughed and said they are that price for genuine items..... he said they `were` genuine!!! after 10 mins of haggling he dropped to £40 for both?and wouldnt drop anymore? still too expensive for fake crap... the airport wanted £3.50 for 1 can of diet coke!! and £12 for a kids burger king meal!! so deffo go all inclus anywhere you go around Europe, they are all taking the piss at the moment, it make`s the uk seem cheap now, Turkey is very hot (just like Dubai!!) but should still be 35+ when you wanna go, but I must say the beaches are better in Dubai

Is my sig that big? time for another pic i thinks!!:tt2:

Richard:cool3:

Thanks Richard, no, we were with Thompsons luckily, not seen the news or know whats been going on in the world over the last 2 weeks, been in a holiday cocoon, ahhhhhh:tt1:

Welcome back Daz, glad you had a good time. I went to Antalya a few years ago and absolutely loved it, i agree fully inclusive is the way to go. We went on a few trips, saw the manganvat waterfalls and markets, lots of fakery about lol.

I went jet skiing nearly everyday and the sea was warmer than the Hotel pool. I loved the sound of the night time there, crickets and local music in the distance, must go back sometime.

I have been to Marmaris many times, 3 I think at around year 2000, yes there was a lot of watches, clothes, etc that was just not kosha - I cannot condone buying that kind of thing though :sneaky2:

you luck bugger!! cant say much about Turkey itself as we stayed in the hotel complex most of the time, went out to `Side` for a night out shopping and it was very nice, ancient ruins and 1 long street down to the harbour with shops selling fake designer goods, perfume and jewelery, the ride in from the airport shows a 3rd worldish scene, with shanty towns and dusty roads but mountanous and quite scenic, the major resorts are well built and hide you away from the shanty town bits, the people are very nice and genuine and I would deffo go back, hope you have a good time, where abouts you going?
