hi guys, not sure if anyone will be able to give me an answer here, one of my neighbours has a van, it's been parked in an awkward place since i moved in 7 months ago, (rather than in his bloody driveway) the tax ran out at the end of the month, the other neighbours say that the van hasn't moved in about a year and a half, so i checked the status of it again today, and he's somehow managed to tax it!!!!!!! surely the MOTt has run out?? how do enquire about a dodgy MOT???? something is deffo not right here!!!!

ud need to get vosa to check the van and if some of the fails (like rust holes etc) dont fit in with the issue date of the mot then its probebly a dodgy ticket.

other than that i doubht theres anything you can do

Has the reg no on the disc been hand written (at the post office) or typed (direct from dvl a and checked electronically) ? Providing they do still manually write them at p.o!

just ring DVLA as its an offence not to display a valid tax disk, they will let the local office know and probably get it checked.

Why can't you ask him if he can move it rather than sneak around trying to get it removed?

Or ring the old bill and say its causing a obstruction, they will advice him to move it, and will check it out in the process for you. job done and they wont even give your details out.

^^^^^^^^^ what he said:confused1:

ach, i would ask him, if he woul answer his door, it's a long story over a fence dispute between my landlord(who used to live here) and the guy who won't move his van, long story short, he won't move it, even when the police have asked him, the thing that gets me is, it's not moved in the 7 months i've been here, and the neighbours say over 18 months or something, so how coupld he have mot'd it?? i reckon he knows a guy selling them,

buy an old banger, and use that to nudge it out the way when hes not in, bet he wouldn't even notice its been moved for a few days, just make sure not to damage the van or its criminal damage

(watched someone do that on worlds craziest fools with Mr T)

Neighbours eh :cursing:

I got a 'telling off' from the noise police across the close for cutting back my own largish leylandi hedge, I used a petrol hedge strimmer of course and he said I was revving it, how else would it work if I didn't bl**dy rev it.

Oh yes it was between the very unsociable hours of 3.45pm and 5.45pm - quite unbelievable :confused1:

Neighbours next to me were that grateful for me cutting this border edge on their side they gave me a bottle of wine!!

SHHHHHHHHH - I work nights so everybody else must keep quiet until I am up, once I am up you can then get on with your life.

Get some earplugs!!!!

Cut my grass on Sunday for 20 mins, in the summer and mid afternoon and he said he had to turn the tv up to drown out the noise I was making - how inconsiderate of me :confused1:

Rant over :2guns:

Or apply for the logbook. DVLA will contact him and if he doesnt reply in a certain time (think its a month?) then its yours haha

done that yesterday, the vehicle is now taxed, the point i'm trying to make, if it's not moved in 18 months, where (and how) did he get it MOT'd??? there's no way it would pass an mot just now,
