Backfire at rev limit

Guys and girls

Driving it hard last night and hit the rev limiter and there was a really loud backfire, is this normal? while I do not intend to scare the living shit out of those around me at the time again, just wondered if this does any damage to the engine?

Thanks in anticipation.

If u hit the rev limiter that could account for the backfire. I'm not certain but if the std rev limiter works on the ignition its possible for unburnt fuel to enter the xorst and go pop!

The Racelogic TC limiter, if u have TC, works on the injectors to prevent unburnt fuel situation.
