Yep, most Black Z32's are Metallic.

Have a look at the plate on the slam panel, the original colour code should be there i.e mine was GL1.

It's either that GL1 or KH3, assuming it's the original paint.

732 is Metalic Black (the most common Black, especially popular on earlier models)

 

The GL1/KH3 is non-metallic Black (More typical on Later models)

+1 on Yowser. I just checked, and there is 3 codes shown for black.

 

BLACK PEARL MET (US = Diamond black pearl) 732 1988-1996

MIDNIGHT BLACK (US = Onyx) GL1 1992-1995

SUPER BLACK (US = Ebony) KH3 1989-2012

Bare in mind, it doesn't necessarily mean that yours has been resprayed with the Nissan colour.

 

If in doubt, take a sample (like the headlight panel) to a decent paint shop and they can match it for you.

agreed,i have 3 black zeds,all are nissan 732,although the latest one has 732 on the vin,its actually been resprayed G10---Galaxy Black

 

Ive never seen any other black here in oz,maybe a europe/us thing i guess

 

As derek has said,get a color match to be sure if in doubt (fuel flap is another easy part to take down)
