looking for a bit of advice here......

 

My engine build is nearing completion. A month or so and I think we will be dropping it in.

 

All is good to go, other than clutch and fly. I reckon the engine should achieve 500bhp. This is by no means a drag car. I basically want it to remain the grand tourer that Nissan intended it to be.......just feckin fast! I want the car to remain comfortable to drive and the clutch to feel as stock as possible, but of course capable of handling the power. No quadruple super carbon carbon double delux carbon jobs. :)

 

So, any suggestions which set up I should be looking at?

Wishing the clutch to feel as much as stock as possible but pushing 500bhp, is tbh mate, a dream.

RPS and Exedy do numerous clutches for different power levels, search and see which seems best suited for a 500bhp car.

Yeah, I kinda thought so. I appreciate that a stock feel will be nigh on impossible to achieve but I want to be as close to the stock side of the stock-ludacris chart as I can

Its a full face clutch rated at 579 ib/ft torque.

 

It is heavier than stock, but very driveable

 

Z1motorsports do a range of Flywheels, take a look. I've installed their own brand lightweight flywheel and Im very happy with it.

Yeah, RPS certainly seem to be the popular choice for zeds. The max street is what I had in mind.

 

I'll check out z1 for the fly. I should have shares with that place. I could probably have bought a new house with th amount I've paid in shipping and tax lol

the feel of a clutch in a z is weird. take alex's and roses cars, both are manual tt's with standard clutches in them. both have boosters on them but they arent fixed up. and both cars have a very very heavy clutch. now if you jump into my car i have an exeedy 3 puc clutch, i have no booster anywhere on my car. not on the pedal or in the engine bay. and it is so light its unreal. i was told it would be really heavy and like an on-off switch. but its just not the case. i get a perfect biting point and it feels like a modern cars clutch pedal. i love it:). i think its about your set up aswell. not just the clutch you go for:)

 

My clutch isn't heavy, you're just a woose, you should drive some of the old cable driven clutch cars :D
