and low and behold, massive pressure loss.... one of the pipes form the intercooler direct on to the turbo had a big hole in it (could push my littler finger though it)... I'd already tightened all those pipes up but hadn't taken them off...D'Oh....

anyway one of the vac pipes also had a split in it, rubber melted close to the turbo....

anyway, car now has the power I remember.... very happy :) :D :)

How does the vacume device work??? I've got something similar to check for leaks but with that I have to listen for the air coming out lol

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

You take off the maf and bung the hole with the leak detector, connect to an air line with a little pressure and it will pressurise the vac system, so you can hear/feel any leaks.

LOL.. exactly the same as your's... you have to listen for air leaks..

I used a silicone hose to push down into areas I couldn't see or feel and put one end to my ear... pretty much pinpointed the area of the problem.

i have heard people say about blowing a coloured gas into it or some kind of power that would stain around the leak BUT you still have to find it and not all places are visible..

Obviously if it's in an awkward place some dismantling is required but it does really help to narrow it down. :)

Like I said I made two of these and I think I might sell the second one.

LOL.. cheers.... sick of getting beat by far inferior cars.... :)

now with both turbos working.... look out Z4's...... lol..

Still not running right then?! lol
