I recently changed the c/l fuse as I blew it changing an interior light and ever since when I get out of the car and press my remote to lock and alarm the car, the indicators flash to show alarm is set but doors do not attempt to lock.

If I then insert the key into the door lock it manually and then unlock it the fob then seems to work the c/l remotely...

I am assuming it "must" be mechanical as the fob is "comunicating" with the car, just not always locking it...

Any ideas what to check guys,

btw when the doors do remotely lock/unlock there is no unusal sounds as though the mechansm is struggling or anything...

Thanks, Dan

Your lock mechanism in the handle might need some lubrication or worn making the movement tight for the solenoid. By using the key you are creating more force when turning the mechanism than the solenoid may be giving out.

You'll need to pull the door card off. The central locking motor for remote locking is an aftermarket solenoid, that attached to the stock Central locking metal rods with a clamp. The clamp can work loose or the whole unit could of shifted positiion, so is not moving the rods sufficiently to unlock the mechanism.

I have a similar problem to this actually. I replaced my solenoid for locking the door, it does move the rods enough to lock the passenger side via the central locking, but it doesn't always lock the drivers door, most of the time it half locks it, so when you go to open the drivers door, the handle comes up, the door opens so far, then catches, and won't open further, then the alarm goes off and you panic, if I panic, I'm damn sure a criminal will! lol

I should point out this is not since I replaced the solenoid, but WHY I replaced the solenoid, so I have a problem with the mechanism/bars somewhere.

i've got a solenoid on mine but disconnected it with it off the locking works fine with the key but with it on i get very restricted movement using the key and sometimes cant unlock the car with the key, i think either the solenoid not great or attached in the wrong place
