2.waste gate stuck open

3.on safety boost

That'll be tricky with twins as all 3 will give similar symptoms with only the stock boost gauge and ears as reference...... it'd be easier when stationary with a few hoses pulled off

Hope everythings cool with the Z dude and this is just speculative frown.gif

with a seized turbo or a wastegate stuck open you won't get much positive boost...at least not to the level of safetyboost, which is ~7psi or 0.48bar

here's a trick taken from tt.net to disable the safetyboost (use at your own risk):

>>>>>

If the ECU is dropping into safety boost all the time with no obvious reason, this is a possible JWT approved fix method. Find the connector coming off the passenger wastegate solenoid. It's the black plug with two wires, a black and white wire on one side and black and green on the other. Get a short bit of extra wire & solder a paperclip to the end of it, cram it in the backside of the plug into the green wire's pin. Electrical tape this together. Ground the other end of the wire, essentially grounding the green wire. The bracket on the side of the plenum has a convenient spot for it.

difference between a stuck wastegate and seized turbo is a little harder to determine.

with a failed turbo you'll probably have lots of oil in one of the pipes that run to the intercoolers or you'll hear screeching/whining noises as soon as the boost starts to build..
