whats going on

After starting the car this morning the revs were at the normal (cold start) 1400rpm. The strange thing was that when I pressed the accelator the revs dropped to around 800rpm before picking up.

Anyone know what is causing this please? After she was warm the revs settled at the usual 700rpm and she picked up fine.

Should I be worried?

Many thanks

Mine does that too when cold started. Also when it is hot after a good run and standing on idle in traffic the idle is occassionally eratic too. I just suffer it.

Hi Martin,

Mine did this quite a while back as well. Turned out to be a rather hefty fuel leak when the car was cold. Also, the TB's needed a good clean. Have a look at all your fuel lines and tighten the jubilee clips. There is one hose under the throttle panel which is a bugger to get to but a long & thin screw driver should do the trick. Otherwise have a look for leaks at the fuel pressure regulator & dampener - a favourite place.

This may not be the problem but it's an easy place to start looking. Hope it help.

Cheers,

Danny

Ahhh. Can that cause it? I tightened my fuel lines but have noticed a small leak coming from the rear wheel arch. mad.gif

I dont know if its the neck or the tank. But my car burbles every now and then. It may be air in the lines.

COuld be the neck - that's what rusted on Duffmans. Tank out jobbie to fix I would have thought.
