Yeah, Mikey's a top bloke really.

So what was the verdict on the saab?

Well he stuck it up on the ramps and gave it a really thorough going over. For one thing it didn't appear to have any oil in the gear box - he stuck a litre in it and we still don't think that was its capacity. He also noticed the steering fluid was way over filled, so he took some out of that - but we're not even sure it has the right fluid in it (Mikey did you manage to find out, I forgot to ask you?)

The oil lights have not come on once, so I think the garage must have actually fixed it the third time round, thank feck.

Its still at bit if a beeatch to get into reverse, possibly more oil? The gear changes definitely were much smoother and to be fair the car didn't miss a beat on the way home. Sooooo, I now need to see if the garage will fix the climate control like they said they would, and then drive the car and *hope* it is all good.....

Was a good day out anyway, nice to meet everyone and get out of town for a few hours. Managed to sneak in a cheeky trip to the carvery on the way home too, nom nom nom :w00t:

Cut your losses, ask for your £40 back, say your getting it dealt with else where by people more competent than a pair of dead gorillas.

shouldn't even of charged you to get the air con working in the first place considering they advertised the car with A/C, they should of knocked some off the asking price for the simple fact it WASNT working.

but seriously, take it some where else to get sorted out, when you find a decent trust worthy garage, make a mental note to always take your car there, then if you ever come to buying another car, on the test drive take the car to them for a once over to make sure everything is as it should be before purchase.

It needs a new compressor - I paid for a re-gas, if I don't let them replace the compressor, then its gonna cost me considerably more than 40 notes :censored:

Does the oil light still come on with the ignition key turned on the first click ? (before you start the car)

Lets hope so!

should of really said this when you where here sorry. the gearbox capacity is 1.8 litres and i managed to get about 1 litre into it. so if you where running around with less than half the oil it needed then there is a good chance the box has some damage to it. now its possible it could last a long time like it is as it has oil in it now but you will get the odd issue like stiff reverse due to the damage allready been done. maybe you should mention this to the garage and see if they will componsate you for it. as for the power steering fluid, no i havent checked if it was the right oil yet but i will do asap. and the pot was full right up to the top. i removed a fair bit to bring it down to the correct level. but apart from these couple of faults i have to say its a really nice clean car. very tidy under it and no play in any bushes or suspention parts that i could see. the oil light issue would of been either the wrong oil in it or it just had a blocked pick-up pipe due to lack or services. it was clear it has new oil and filter on it so lets hope all is good. but i would reccomend the next time you service it get a flush put in the oil to help clear it out:)

cheers Mikey, you're a star. And yes the oil light comes on initially when the ignition is first on :sweatdrop:
