Thought you might be driving past my house as I'm near scunny, but then noticed you are north yorks so maybe not LOL :)

Have a nice drive back, sure it'll turn some heads!

dont think there are many left especially mk1s and in as good nick as this one

Yes I would agree. That one you got looks in great condition as they all tended to rust after a shower! lol

Awesome!

I had one of these for about 2 years. Spent thousands on it - brakes, suspension, engine, sound system, wheels etc, etc. Then went to jack it up one day and the jack just pushed up through floor pan! Bloody tin worm :mad2: Sold it for next to nothing in the end.

Having said that, I enjoyed every minute of owning it. Never driven a car that was so competent in the wet - I imagine its the same appeal as a scooby (from a different era, admittedly). Great car though. Bloody comfy too, those seats were like arm chairs!

Enjoy it!

what a a-se getting insurance for the sierra finally got a decent quote after many houirs of phone calls believe me it was easier to insure the zx

I had mine insured for just under 400 quid a year with Footman James on a classic policy. That was with 5 points for a driving without due care too! And the car was registered to an address in Bagdad (not literally).

You gonna be using it every day?

You won't get classic tax on the car, the criteria for classic tax was changed, no longer will a car be entitled to classic tax once it hits 25 years old, the car now has to have been manufactured before 1973 (August I think).

Close Ian, its actually 01/01/73. I remember as my old Dodge was just in at Dec '72. Was supposed to be a rolling 25 years which would have been great but the Labour government threw it out. *******s. :asshole:

I could tell you some stories about the local council in that towns very own, custom made, anti-spam software for their email server! :D Every email that came into it was classified as spam until they spent LOTS of money

Love the Fords, I used to be a ford man, still am at heart I suppose, which is why I had the Ford Falcon in NZ, but tbh, they're just dissapointing compared to GTRs, Z32s, VR4s, WRXs, etc. :( That one looks nice though.

Thats fine, but you did say, it looks mint! then what a discusting car? You see, that comment does not make sense. Anyway, everyone to their own opinion I guess. 'Opinions that make sense are better though!'

C'mon Spritley,

It's obvious what he meant. He was saying the car looked in mint condition for its age. But it also made him feel slightly unwell looking at it!

Pay attention next time! :tt2:
