Has anyone got one or tried one before?

Just i'm commuting 25 miles a day each way to work and weighing up if there's any way i can save any more money.

I'm spending about £50 a week going to and from work so potentially a £200 a month save if i invested in a bike.

I used to be able to cycle 35 miles a day without trouble but i think 50 might just be a bit too much for a fat old man like myself

I've been looking at the conversion kits and reading the word of mouth from a few people that run this guy's bikes and the feedback is good.

Add to that the range is 25-40 miles and i can charge the battery up under my desk during the day and it sound like a reasonable idea to get fit and save some money while i'm at it.

25 miles each way? Seems like a fair old schlep, Nick!

I cycled about 8 miles each way for nearly 12 months, as I didn't have a car. That was when I was young, fit and still had some lungs left! I reckon 25 miles is too far each way - you're going to be looking at about an hour to an hour and a half depending on weather / inclines etc. Unless you're lucky enough to work an 8 hour day, it means you're gonna be knackered in no time mate. You'd definitely soon get fit, but I remember those short winter days and cycling home in a 20mph headwind that just crushes your spirit! That little electric motor might help a bit, but lets face it - you'll look bent as a 9 bob note with that lot strapped to your bike! Surpirsed it doesn't come in a front-mounted wicker basket for discreetness!

If I were you, I'd buy a proper road bike (racer) and only do it when you can be arsed and feel smug about it, rather than actually saving money. Or buy an old moped that could be run on a shoe string. Maybe you're just in need of another project, eh!

The last thing i need is another project right now - it looks like a scrap yard round mine at the moment!

Just trying to find a way to save money and get fit this moment but i haven't got the fitness to cycle that far a day at the moment and every penny counts right now while i try and sort out my finances/get a zed on the road finally.

I've looked whether it's worth buying a new super efficient small car on finance but when you add up how much it'd cost to buy in the first place it's not worth it.

Tried finding other jobs that pay as well a bit closer but the best i've found saves me £170 a month but my salary is capped by £5k compared to sticking where i am now.

id say get a moped to be honest, cheap as chips to run, and i bet 15 to 20 to fill the tank and it will most likely do you all week. get a pedal and pray, and you get fit starting the bloody thing lol

i use a 50 cc moped when its dry to and from my work, its only 6.5 miles each way but it only costs me 7.50 to fill the tank and lasts nearly 9 days, saved me £25 per week compared to driving the z, unfortunately the british weather is not that kind to bikes!
