evening everyone!! right i have just carried out a "scientific experiment" and just had a question for your more clued up selves, is my import limited to 120mph? sorry if thats a daft question, but that appears to be the way.. if not i have... problems :huh:

Yea I see now, but from that link that was posted it does appear to be north american clocks.. they are the only ones that go to 160mph by the looks of things,so if they don't make n/a uk clocks how do u think its best I get rid of this limiter issue?

tbh I wouldn't have expected it to still be limited on US clocks either. The jap limiter seems pretty harsh, I remember racing a friend of mine in his Pulsar GTiR and whilst he was pulling away from me at first, with it being SO rapid off the mark, once he hit the limiter, it violently threw his head forwards, did you experience something similar?

nah not exactly , its hard to explain , if you have ever drove a van that's limited to say 70mph it gets to 70 but won't go ne further even though its only doing 3000rpm, and feels like its starving itself of fuel, that's wat the zx felt like at 120, but again it was no where near finished, n just felt like it was starving itself, it wouldn't go 1mph over 120, so I let off the throttle to 90 ish ,and it picked right back up again to 120 with ease n that's it really lol sorry bowt essay!! :online2long:

yeah it does seem like there is a limiter, but I'd say it'll be an aftermarket one, I believe the standard one is a fuel cut operating off the ECU's speed sensor? i.e. you would feel the thing literally cutting off the fuel and then accelerating back up to 120, then cutting off, then back up to 120, then cutting off, etc. Someone correct me if that's not right please?
