Steering Problems

Hi,

I have had the steering stiffen up on me intermittently and the other day I was thrashing it, came to a corner and it became really stiff, it nearly caused me to change my undercrackers! I have heard there are speed sensors on the gearbox that can go, I have checked the PS fluid and that is full.

Any Ideas would be gratefully received!

When the speed sensor goes the steering becomes really light at speed and heavy when slow/parking.

Don't think it would cause it to go heavy when you're thrashing it but may be possible.

When mine was on it's way out I could hardly keep the car in a straight line at speed - had to jiggle the wheel left and right just to stay straight and it felt like I was tram lining on white lines all the time when i wasn't. I think that may have been the HICAS twitching the rear wheels for no reason or something.

Cheers Mate,

One of the rear bushes is dripping silicon if that could affect it ?? It's the large one before the wheel.

Do you have an import with a speedo conversion?

That caused the problem on mine
