You should get a centre section which bolts onto the cats and two rear boxes sections that bolt to the centre section.

Im pretty sure on the zed the cats are part of the centre centre so therefore you could only fit back boxes as apposed to cat back. No reason to keep the cats get a centre section and back boxes

no the cats are part of the down pipes marty as you can see from this ebay listing.

ah yes of course i was thinking of SWB we dont have as many pipes as the LWB

I thought a zed geek like you'd have known that :detective:

But then again, I guess you've moved on to an SWB specialist now, not the limo versions lol :tooth:

Yep on lwb its a two section exhaust from the catback

thats the same system im fitting next week Gary how did it fit any problems?

why do some exhausts join in the middle. is it just different noise levels?? my zorst is 2 complete different systems:)

think it some thing to do with balancing the back pressure but i might be totally wrong.

Bit of miss information going on around here, Not all LWB exhausts have so many joins.

Blue flame mongoose for instance, is a straight through pipe from the cat join to the back boxes.

Where as the mongoose they sell on zcenter, is split at the mid section.

There are many different exhaust available, the one i have forsale you would not be able to put onto a japspeed decat system that has divorced waist gates for instance as the joins are completely different.

As with any exhaust system, its best to check the mounting ends to make sure they will pair together.

yes that maybe the case but, the original question was:

when you buy a aftermarket exhaust from the cat back does it fit staiaght on to the standard cat

Like Ian says you need to check before buying.

No problem for me as I didn't fit it:biggrin: But the garage that did had no problems and is sounding well:thumbup1:

great news should have an easy Monday morning then. Thanks Gary

I think its to balance the sound that comes out of the rear so it sounds nice and smooth.

take it out you would get a bla bla bla bla sound because the way the engine fire with it being a V.

Fit the H pipe or X pipe and you get a baaaaaaaaaaaa. because it would be equal :)

smooth like a bag of spanners :lol:

Well thats what there there for and some people say it gains horse power?

I bet if you had one fitted it would be even smoother, think about it and how the pistons run on a V engine

No difference in number of sections between SWB and LWB stock exhaust system.

Downpipes(Elbows) >>>> Cat >>>> centre(H pipe) >>>> backboxes
