Well, hopefully my new engine arrives next week so i can crack on and get my car on the road. so before it goes in, i have a few bits to change. ive got all the shiny stuff to take off my old engine to put on the new one.

But while the engine is out i want to do a bit of tidying. now im stuck for getting the front bumper off unless i take both wings off. so any deletes with parts hidden behind the wings / front bumper the bits are going to have to stay, so anyway a few questions

does anyone have a diagram for the new vac pipe route once ive deleted things?

Also, does anyone make the blanking off plates for the plenum once ive removed the EGR?

Also, what size bolt am i going to need to blank off the EGR to manifold pipe once its removed?

want to get as much info on this as possible so i dont end up with trouble starting the engine once ive done all this and the new engine is in the motor.

This thread that you posted in lol http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=130646&highlight=vacuum+lines

Make the plates yourself Ian, cut the egr pipe that goes into the plenum leaving you with the flange and an inch or so of pipe and fill with chemical metal filler.

Not sure on the bolt size for the egr delete, mine came with the new manifolds.

Do a search through Boldy's post where he used a coin and a bolt to block it off.

my exhaust blank was a travesty to get out, ended up completely ruined, so re-using it with a coin etc. was out of the question, and i didn't fancy that idea... any plumbing shop, cast iron type threaded bung/end stop, couple of quid, bang on it was... Just don't go mad when tightening it up, last thing you want to do is strip the thread, then it's get yer welder out time... I also made the blanks for the plenum out of some scrap 5mm aluminium i had lying about, easy enough, draw round the flange from one of the removed pipes, just copy it but without the hole in the middle, then drill the 2 bolt holes, I've got a grind stone, but still easy with a file if you cut it something like the right shape, just a case of rounding the edges off really... HTH matey...

Actually tell a lie, my manifolds didnt come with a blanking bolt for the egr. I cut the egr pipe and slid off the bung, then used a little exhaust paste, a one pence piece, drifted that into the hole, then used the bung up tight and filled the hole in the bung with liquid metal filler.

If you want some blanks Ian, i can make them for you from heavy gauge aluminium. Just need the sizes.....

Will be free for you matey.
