I was wondering if anyone has done this, surely a good velcro will hold it in and also it gives the option of a spoiler at a later date without snapping it getting it out.

Do you think it'll be under much stress though. I take it the air flow goes past it thats why a spoiler goes there.

Might get away with just normal velcro

If you just need to fit it in place then the 4 bolts/nuts you need to use anyway will more than hold it in.

For permanant fix you need to seal it though, to stop exhaust fumes getting in.

I had mine fitted with the bolts for about a year, but eventually sealed it becuase of fumes.

Howabout putting a bead of silicone on the boot and then using the bolts to hold it in. Would that work?

Ive just heard things about them being super fragile and i dont want to break one.

i used tiger seal with bolts and was able to remove it fine but very very carefully prising each edge/piece at a time, i then snapped it putting on another Zed not good :?

i mean if i put a bead on the bootlid and let it dry, so that when the strip does go on its pulled onto the seal

i would do that anyway and yes it will pull the panel tighter as you turn so will smush the seal in to the body a little :) hth

thats the plan yeah, but i dont know how fragile these are, ive not got one yet. just got a gaping hole at the back. will that be enough to fracture them or would it be ok, cus if it would be problem solved

you need to be carefull when fitting, a little pressure in the wrong place at the wrong time is more than enough to crack it (mainly i found when inserting the screws in to the holes on the tailgate) thing is id already fitted it once, removed then me and a friend where refitting it to my new zed when i heard it go its only a hairline crack but will need a temp fix followed by a replace

yeah i think it was a lttle extra force on the right side from my mate, i said watch out its then "crack" its not so bad when new but the more the sun bleaches them over time the more brittle they seem to get :/

While I'd always reccomemd MJP for oem parts, in this case your local Nissan dealer is typically a better option for the perspex strip.

They often get broken in transit and mike @ MJP and Zcentre are relunctant to post them out for this reason.

Whereas you can collect yourself from Nissan, and if it breaks on the way to them its there responsibility.

Price is about the same either way, somewhere around £40-50 depending on individual dealer.
