im currently waiting on my girlfriends dad to ring, then we will know. PS santa pod has cameras you know lol

How can he comment to you on this if he is SECURITY?

This is bad crack and all over the scooby sites as well.

how do you get a car out like that:-(

Mark

and I dont see why you would expect there to be much official news. I presume by official you mean on the TV and other media.

There is something like 500 cars stolen every day in the UK. This car is well known in the Drift scene....but the drift scene is not a popular subject in general UK media.

Sure if it had been a "race" car, then we might of seen some Media interest.

There are 2 known police officers invovled on the driftworks site about the car and there are official police report numbers.

^^^^^^ Hit the nail on the head IMHO

Yes the Japspeed drift car has been stolen by some necky pikey fooker' and it's a big deal within the drift community, but the fact of the matter is, very few people outside of the drift scene, those involved with Santa Pod or the surrounding area (or those that just want to throw around a bit of conspiracy thoery for kicks on forums) actually really gives a flying f**k, and that's not me being harsh, its true

If Lewis Hamilton's F1 car was stolen during the grand Prix then yes it would make the news, but the fact is that its a car, built and run by an exhaust/car parts supplier and is competed in a relatively low budget motorsport, involving people that nobody outside of the scene have really heard of (middle aged, unemployed former boy band members aside)

*Just one for the conspiracy thoery brigade*

Has anybody actually considered the fact that quite a few well known members of the Driftworks forum actually openly challenged some pikey prick/s from Gloucester (who incidentally got out of pokey just 2 days prior, having been done for car theft!) to come and steal their drift cars, if he/they had the balls to do so.

Quite possible that said pikey prick actually does have the balls and the skills to do so, and has just made a group of drifters look like a bunch of idiots (in his pikey eyes at least)

If it was me, I'd be trawling all of the so called Japanese specialists/dodgy 'Jap' garages around the Gloucester area (some of which are well known by the Police) and maybe then they'd get somewhere

I'm pretty sure, judging by this DW thread, that it's not just a simple case of jumping in a car like this and turning a key.

Whoever took it obviously knew what they were doing

again, just my 2p worth

News Coverage.

I wonder if the police will prosecute the guy filming it on the motorway....

Chris hes security, not ministry of defence, they dont do gagging orders lol

Mrs has spoken to her dad, seems someone with a hefty set of balls got in the car and just drove out the gate with it. it wasnt stopped at the gate, as no alarm had been sounded to say it had been stolen at this point, so those on the gate believed it to be the owner driving it.

tbh, sounds like someone really didnt pay too much attention to there own vehical if someone can drive the distance from where it was, to out the gate and get away with it.

As for it people saying about it not being in the local, we have plenty of storys from santa pod mentioned in the local press http://www.northantset.co.uk/news/local/corby/get_the_drift_at_santa_pod_1_747693 heres one for instance.

I live local enough to santa pod to know.

Necky fooker's got balls, that's all I can say

*Cue scene from Star Wars......"This isn't the scooby you're looking for, move along!"

It may well do at some point I guess, although with the confirmed sightings being down south it may not be local news relevant still.

A car being stolen does not make good news, or good publicity. Santa pod site may publish something, if asked to by the police or japseed in a search for assistance, but as can be seen by the TV news report, the story isn't about a car being stolen its about how an online community is helping to track down a stolen car - thats what makes it a news worthy story.

Car has been found ! :D

In the Reading area.

Partially stripped, and looks like they attempted to remove some of the stickers but its now been found and recovered with the help of the police.

Would a car like that have a tracker fitted?

Will from now on but it didn't up to this point in time, probably too much weight!!

well what a great read :) Personally i dont see the attraction in subarus i class it as a pikey car anyway back in the late 90s when everyone got one. Sure there was better cars they could of stolen

It has been 48 hours of hell followed by joy but Team Japspeed are pleased to report four men have been arrested in connection with the theft of the Japspeed Impreza. We will have more details when they follow (due to ongoing investigations) but this is a MASSIVE positive for the whole team, all our followers and EVERY person who toook time out to help search for the car and provide information when it mattered most. In the end, we found the car in Bucklebury Close, Holyport with the help of Thames Valley Police. The car had one side of stickers removed, the rear wings, spoiler, bumper and lights - most of which has already been retrieved back.

"The support we've hd has simply been overwhelming" says Japspeed's Paul McCallum. "For those windering, the car WAS disabled, however those involved managed to start it while it was left unattended. We've been to hundred of shows and this has never happened before - people usually have respect. It is a shame as it means we will have to be extra vigilant with leaving the car on show for the 99.9 of punters who just want to enjoy the car, but we hope something like this never happens to anyone."

We will keep you informed when more news arises on the four connected, but until then we thank everyone for their support and help. The rest of the report can now be found on the BBC website.
