Hi guys,

Just got word of mouth and have just now see on Facebook that a Subaru drift car has been stolen from Santa pod at around 6:30 yesturday evening.

Here is the link to their FB page. Please 'like' the page and get info & pics of the car: http://www.facebook.com/teamjapspeed

Lets keep a close eye out for this car please and hope it gets found, and returned in safe sound. Its certainly not a car you see everyday so it wont be hard to miss but all the info is on their FB page regarding the number to contact if spotted or have an idea where it might be.

If there is anyone who works on the docks, or close by please keep an extra eye out as suspisions are that it 'could' be on route out of the country.

Cheers.

I bet there were some red faces around when they found out someone had sneaked that thing out.

I'm sure it'll turn up.

on eBay

I find it hard to believe that a car of such a high profile can be taken under the nose of organisers and owners and since Japspeed is a trader on here and no doubt many forums. Why didnt they post up themselves?

Could be a PR stunt or maybe genuine, who really knows?

There doesnt seem to be much info or sightings on such a high profile car

just been looking on facebook and they are offering a reward for informataion leading to the return of the car, And you will be surprised what people can get away with, would you look twice at a car leaving santa pod at 630pm??? even a car as well known as the scooby no body really owns it so its not always got the same driving in the car, people wouldn't think its being stolen. i really hope they get it back but i suspect it will either be in flames or broken up by day light.

surley someone has seen itm you cannot not notice a car looking like that going down the road! from what ive read on the other forums it sounds like stolen to order so id expect the worst but will hope for the best for the owners sake.

They will have driven it out of the show ground really slowly and gently, then on the road they'll have obeyed every rule in the book. Stealing cars to order isn't done like in "Gone in Sixty Seconds" they obey every road rule and speed limit, because if the alert is raised and they get pulled, it's all over. I reckon the car will be headed out of the country, most likely the middle east to be honest.

Kurt (sunbeam19) and i are heading up to Leicester from Chelmsford today so will keep our eyes peeled.

the buggers that stole that have got some balls! i bet a lot of work (and £ in parts) has gone into that.

if it's a PR stunt (which in a way i kind of hope it is) then it's not in very good taste as people will be making an effort to look out for it.

Dont know if you guys have been following the driftworks page...

But apparantly they are getting multiple sightings, and there is even a BDC Driver currently in chase........apparantly....

Thats not the national news. Its around all the forums, etc, but not serious enough to be on the national news?

Its supposedly spotted near Kent, then near Windsor. The fuel tank is tiny and wouldnt get anyone very far without constantly filling up or stopped. I just find the whole thing a bit fishy.

I'd be suprised it it was on National news. Its just a stolen car.

I can see a possible news story if its gets found, due to support from everyone online - now thats the sort of story that makes good news.

Its not just any stolen car though, its a high profile Team Japspeed Subaru. I hope its for real and it gets found, but after reading several forums there are some conflicting accounts, but time will tell. Maybe im just having a sceptical day :detective:

im finding this hard to believe to be quite honest. as santapod is just 6 miles away from me in podington, so the news would be very local to my area, and there is nothing in the local paper or on its website to suggest that a theft has taken place of such a car.

Im sure if it was my vehicle id want it in the local news to make people fully aware locally that its been taken incase anyone saw what happened to it, after it left santa pod. its not like its a ordinary drift car. and i highly doubt it wouldn't of gone unnoticed due to lack of plates.

Also doesnt any one find it strange that there is no news on santa pods website?

Im calling shinnanigans on this one to be honest.

The supposed sightings are getting beyond a joke, all over the country, highly unlikely.

Ive said all along that it doesnt smell right. If im wrong i will happily eat my words

groover your not the only one who thinks this is fishy, i live in wellingborough and have friends who work at santa pod, not least my girlfriends dad who works security. (PJ if anyones met him)

Some of the sighting are certainly dubious, and to be expected.

No idea why anyone would think its some sort of hoax though.

lack of offical news matey.

and I dont see why you would expect there to be much official news. I presume by official you mean on the TV and other media.

There is something like 500 cars stolen every day in the UK. This car is well known in the Drift scene....but the drift scene is not a popular subject in general UK media.

Sure if it had been a "race" car, then we might of seen some Media interest.

There are 2 known police officers invovled on the driftworks site about the car and there are official police report numbers.

santapod is a part of our local community always has been, i live in wellingborough the same town that shares the address of santa pod, if something like this had happened it would of been in the LOCAL news today. and its not. also why wouldn't santa pod put it on there own website asking for people to come forward with information, im sure they wouldn't just sit by and say "ho well" due to it not being a "racing car", and would be asking people visiting the website for information to be brought forward, after all this was supposed to of been taken from there property with no one noticing.

Im sure a proactive approach would go down with people a lot better than keeping it all hush hush like nothing had happened.

Yeh, I'd agree it should be on the Santa pod site.

But then it was stolen saturday evening, and its now sunday. If its not been found tomorrow then perhaps the web developer will post it up when he returns to work.

Its on the Santa pod Facebook page, and the Japspeed facebook site, and the Japspeed own website - asking people to contact the Northamptonshire police.
