June 9, 201115 yr First off, I love my car again, iv fixed almost everything that made me hate it ;) anyway, the pump failed at the bdc under epic load :( It's a TT, manual, in an NA shell (ie no hicass or hicas pump etc) the TT engine was/is running an NA powersteering pump, it's dead. Iv got a TT powersteering pump, will it work? There are 3 pipes coming off it? Does one of them need blanking off or recirculating etc? Thanks
June 9, 201115 yr Yes, one of them is for the hicas, in theory two of the pipes should be the same as your NA one and it should be relatively simple to figure out which one needs to be blanked/re-circ'd, however someone on here, will probably be able to tell you exactly what you need to do.
June 9, 201115 yr iirc you can't just blank off the unused pipes on the TT pump as it will cause it to fail. There's two options I believe; 1st and easiest is to connect the two pipes together to form a loop that will allow the fluid to move. 2nd is to open the pump up and disable the HICAS end (there are threads telling you how to do this on the site) HTH
June 11, 201115 yr yeh thats correct the high pressure will cause internal damage. you can modify the tt pump but it will be easier to fit an na one bear in mind the brackets are different as wel.
