out a good long drive today in the sun for a few hours but by the time i got home theres a bad tin rattle coming from a backbox, guessing the insides have collapsed. any way of fixing or is it new exhaust time?

is it a standard system, check the metal surround on the back box, might have rusted so is now flapping and making a rattle. are you sure its the back box. there are quite a few heatshields on the standard exhaust.

yea standard system! didnt think of it being a heat shield as it was coming from so far back!, will investigate....take it they are ok to rip off on these cars?

Yes get rid, they are just noisy rusty pieces of crap lol. Occasionally if not loose you can get a small stone trapped between the zorst and plate, makes a horrible noise too.
