Holly Cow! But surely it's only a matter of time until turbos and stock internals start having problems?

With all that increased aggression I'd say so. Someone was telling me the other day how their turbo started leaking oil after a downpipe upgrade, but not until 300 or 400 miles afterwards, if all this has had is a dyno, I'd say wait and see.

Seems perfectly legitimate..

they've completely revised the intake and exhaust system AND they're running race fuel. I think that fuel alone must be good for an extra 10-15%.

still impressive though

Seems really high, people often do not pay much attention to US BHP figures as like their egos they are often inflated!

thought stock turbos max out at 16-18 psi .... theyre running 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ive blown 2 sets of stock tubs at less that 18 psi :-(

strange to think this car is over 500hp on standard setup.

What a load of BS, who in their right mind would go to all that trouble and not upgrade the turbos while your there?

From the title of the thread I was expecting a more or less standard Z32 with maybe de-catt, exhaust, air filter, under drive pully and intercoolers done. What they have there is far from stock and pointless IMO

title says stock turbos sir.

the turbos are stock

I know, but was "expecting" as I said the rest to be more or less stock. Why pay out and go to all that trouble and not spend a little extra to upgrade to snails too.

500bhp on stock tubs with the few maods I mentioned would be worth it ;)

why upgrade when stocks put out 500 :-) 'apparantly' wish i knew this before i upgraded, would of just got 360 bearings and 740cc injectors till kabooo day.

They're running race fuel..

116 octane - so they have probably advanced the timing as far as humanly possible and wound the turbos up full chat, knowing they will not get det (or less likely too). You couldn't do this on standard pump fuel. Also, as already mentioned - this does not mean the engine won't go bang in 100 miles or less.

Take the fuel out of the equation and the results are far more believable.

taking the race fuel out of the equation they are stating on 91 ron fuel 419 whp?

is this genuinely achievable??

would that equate to about 460+ at the fly

Yup and half way through a 1/4 mile run down Santa Pod your tubs would explode and your pistons melt lol

What you can get on a dyno for a one off is far different to setting up on a car you can actually use.

Now that setup has cost I would think way over £6k and will be about as reliable as chocolate fire gaurd.

For £6k you can rebuild with proper turbos and get the same power AND the reliability.

So again I really dont see the point.

Wouldnt like the det issues associated with running 91 ron

I agree, seems an arse-about-face way of doing things. They've spent a fortune on other bits then completely neglected the really important bits. With another 3-4 grand thrown at it, it would be running a pretty steady 500+ setup without having to run stock components beyond their limits.

Lets wait for the next thread titled - smoking badly, any ideas??
