I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT ALL THE SETTINGS AND DIALS DO TO THE VEHICLE

So in other words he didn't build it, he bought it and has probably played around with all the settings he doesn't know about and now it's all to cock. Why would anyone have a car like that and store it for 8 months, then sell it now, when performance cars are hardly selling?

Advert seems genuine enough but, something just seems fishy to me.

My oh my, 6k spent on one of the invoices and the tuning co give a hand written receipt.....classy.

My thoughts too matey......

Ive seen loads of hand written receipts. i understand what your saying jeff as its not that hard to add bits to the invoice, but even with printed ones, it doesnt mean its got the parts it says it has.

in all fairness, i think he bought it off CRD racing, and then had it in storage for 8months before deciding to sell it. though it now begs the question. it was built in 2005, and thats a long time to remove and replace an engine.

Buyers be ware is all im going to say on this one.

And nothing said about the gearbox and clutch if it's 800 bhp through it !

And nothing said about the auto box if it's 800 bhp through it !

Because its a manual, check the interior pictures (manual gear stick)

Sorry did not make my point clear, when spending that kind of money surely a printed receipt is the minimum to expect from a company such as this, its bad practise in my view.

Aah, true - think some garages really dont know we have printers nowwa days lol

I do remember seeing this one in Banzai magazine.., Surely they wouldn't go round to the owners house and review it if they didn't have proof it was pushing 500+ bhp upwards would they???

I was also thinking tbh, that the tech spec is a little lacking for that much BHP, but I just thought I'd leave that, since it seems obvious he bought it from CRD or from whoever bought it from them and probably doesn't know the full spec. Seems highly unlikely that you would garage such a car for 8 months and then choose to sell it now when the car market is on it's arse though!

I've seen stranger things though, my best mate bought a Pulsar GTi-R about 7 years ago, threw about £10K at it, made it the fastest one in the country, got it in all the magazines and on Banzais show stand at JAE and Modded Nationals etc. Then sold it for about £6K without ever really tracking it, or anything, not even a single 1/4 mile run before he flogged it. Not even like he needed the money. He also didn't do any of the work himself, got a local tuning garage that was trying to make a name for itself to do it. Almost the entire £10K went in to the engine too, the only external mods were black wheels and a few de-cals. Very odd.

The Spec is there for that sort of power potential but buyers you would want to fully investigate the car to confirm it currently matches that list which is presumably from at least 6 years ago.

A lack of dyno graph, an owner not familiar with the car setup and it sounds like it may have running issues from the vague description, all raises concerns.

400BHP NOS? That'd be heavy, not even sure some of the fastest drag cars are running that!?

I reckon the car is likely well out of tune, the bits will have been played with, if it's been in storage for 8 months, things may have seized, as most of us know, when you buy a fettled car, bits are usually removed and swapped out for lesser bits, etc. My car initially had a boost controller in it, boost guages, turbo timer, snooper, blah blah blah, found all the remnants of it on the ignition block, boost hose that was blanked off and going nowhere in the dash, etc. My GTR was the same, that was still around 400 BHP when I got it, but had previously been running a LOT more.

its a 150 shot NOS Bottle.......probably about a 100hp peak increase.

As Said, the spec is well within the capabilies of the power claims. Those TD06 20G's are big tubs. There is a Lot of money invested on that list.

If everything listed is still fitted , and if its in good order and properly setup.

lol love the highlighting, +1 for emphasis without shouting! :D

Willing to bet that 400 of the 800HP is in the Nos bottle.

my bet is its running alot more than 400, and that the current owner just hasn't a clue whats exactly been done to it, looks as if he has just copied a few bits from the receipts, and the invoice looks genuine enough to me, proper printed company header, all the handwriting seems to match, besides, if i was a genuine buyer i would just phone the company that supposedly did the work and ask them! no harm in doing that....

There a nice auto 300zx near me with HKS GT2530's for 1500 bucks. That's good value. So would this be if it went sub 3.5k .. I'd have it any day of the week.

only reason i say "buyer beware" is that most of the mods are internal, with the exception of the turbos and injectors.

would be a good idea to check turbo size and injector color before purchasing. at least that way there is more likely the engine hasn't been touched and does indeed house those uprated parts.

I like the "my mate spent £10k on his gti-r making it the fastest in the country" comment, followed by "he never had it on the 1/4 mile once"!

How'd he know it was the fastest???

Because the guy who bought it from him did, lol sorry should have mentioned that :chinese:

This car was in Banzai magazine maybe three or four years ago. It claimed to be the fastest Z in the country. I did have the article unfortunately I had a clear out and sadly it must of gone. It did name the person who owned it and the company that did the work. It claimed roughly 500bhp so I suggest some check Banzai as in the magazine and did not have 800bhp, It is definitely the same car.

Just pulling your chain mate!

What did it do the 1/4 mile in?

Can't remember exactly, think it was sub 11 though, not sure. We're talking about 7 years ago or more. lol
