Guest HollowPoint Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 ... I have no idea what these are called, but basically the gasket type thing that goes between the top of the suspension strut and the suspension mount? I have a second hand set of Teins ready to go on the car (Nearly, need to wait for the anti-rust stuff to dry and then a couple of coats of paint to go on) and I need these I think to do it properly. Guest lee dent Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Why dont you get some gasket sheets from most car parts places and make your owm set;)..Lee Quote
groover Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 MJP for OEM strut gaskets they are only a few quid each so not worth the hassle of making them imo. Quote
Guest HollowPoint Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Yeah I thought about cutting some myself, I have plenty of gasket paper, but tbh the remains of what's already on the top of the struts looks to be spongy, compared to gasket paper which is simply paper. Cheers Groover, I'll get in touch with MJP on monday then, since I'm ordering my sills from him that day too anyway :D Shame I can't get the suspension on before then, but I can't drive it until I take it for the welding and MOT anyway, so no big loss :D Will have to see if I can squeeze under it enough to get the exhaust sorted out while I'm waiting ;) Quote
Steams Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 I just put a bead of silicon on them instead of the gasket. Quote
groover Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 TBH the strut gaskets are thin anyway, they just stop metal to metal contact, they wont actually add anything substantial. Quote
Guest HollowPoint Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Bead of silicon might do the job. Cool, thanks for that Steams. Quote
