still aint had time to jack car up yet,i have coil overs at rear so would you think its subframe bushes?and whats that kit like that takes no time to fit on ebay as dropping frame is a no no time and money

i had my rear end hopping or jumping on 2 occassions, when my rear shocks were knackered, and when one of my Hicas arms were worn which cause play in the wheel.

n/a shite tyres on rear ,coilvers as said and fully adjustable suspension all round aint checked but may be at full stiffness

if its a harsh juddering/hopping on launch then its most likely to be the rear subframe bushes. they are silicone filled and with age this leaks out and results in poor subframe location.

 

subframe collars are a popular repair and used a lot on the 200sx. they come as solid alloy collars or white line poly collars call pineapple rings.

 

ive had a set of the latter on a 200 and my last 300 and they are good, the alloy ones can be quite harsh.

 

personally id replace the bush with a poly bush but this is a bigish job.

The bushes would have to have disappeared completely to give wheel hop.Rear shocks for sure.Many people are riding around on leaking rear subframe bushes with no idea they,ve gone.

ive got fully adjustable rear coil overs if i make them softer to try that if that fails which members seem to be saying and it is the shocks does that work like the old mcpherson strut ie need new insert compress spring and remove,would i be able to use standard shock then or would i have to replace full strut,many thanks for the help

i had the same, when u hit a small bump it feels like the back end jumps up. it was down to worn hicas arms

I had to replace the rear shocks on my car. I only noticed it on broken road surfaces under acceleration. Which ever wheel was worst affected, would bounce up and down until it found some smooth tarmac again. The rear end would wander off line slightly too, but as a Hicas arm was also worn its difficult to say which had the greatest influence. It feels rock solid now though.

 

If your car has adjustable coilovers then try adjusting the dampers first, but i'd be surprised if they were set so hard they caused the car to bounce. Unless they are cheapo ebay jobs and the spring rates are way out.. I've had coil overs on other cars and even when in their harshest settings they never 'bounced'.
