ellodave Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 I will be looking to buy one of these in the near future. I wanted to know the best one to go for and how much i should pay for one? also ill be looking to get the car remapped and rolling roaded once boost control valve fitted. Is there anything else i should upgrade before doing this? i will be doing boost pipes and rad pipes before doing anything. Thanks Quote
leo-r32gts Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 What else has been done to the motor mate?? Oh, and get your 'Rides' section sorted - you're a fully paid up member now - so no excuses!! Quote

Prices range from £100 to £300, depending where you buy, new or used. Upgrading wise...... Depends on your budget matey, minor mods are quite cheap to put in place, but some major mods can be expensive... Alz. Quote
davezx Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Go for a apexi avcr. Has to be the best ebc for a zx, easy to use and easy to play with :-). Also looks the best. Quote
Yowser Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Greddy profec B Spec II is the most popular choice. Its simple to use and does exactly what you need it to do. It also fits in the stock clock location, for a relatively oem style install. For ECU Remaps speak to John Dixon for his Remapped Chip options. Quote

Yowser Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 (edited) AVCR is not bad, but not as easy to use as the Greddy though and no oem install location. Looks pretty good in black, ugly in the usual silver though. tbh, I'd go for whatever known brand EBC you can get for the best deal. I had a Greddy Profec E-01 previously. Excellent EBC, pricey though and the large green LCD screen is looking dated these days. If money is not an issue then I would prob go for the Blitz SBC i-Color (In black). ellodave Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 thanks for reply guys. leo-r32gts its standard bar straight through system and a apexi filter plus a s2 ptu. So 2 for greddy and 2 for apexi! umm maybe i should start a poll! lol Is there a certain model i need as im guessing they replace the standard boost solnoid's? do they do kits with 2 etc???. I have never bought or used a EBC so exscuse my dumbness!! Quote

I have never bought or used a EBC so exscuse my dumbness!! Any EBC, no special requirements. You will see some advertised as Dual solenoid, this is not related to twin turbos, its all about accuracy/reliablity. Quote
ellodave Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 are they easy to put in? and i have a greddy turbo timer so im thinking i will probably go greddy as at least they match Quote
leo-r32gts Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 As long as its not a cheap Ebay jobby I think either would be fine. I know Z1 recommend Greddy - but that might because Greddy agreed to give them the biggest wholesale discount!! Just avoid very cheap ones - think about where you want to put it and how you want it to look too. Quote
