Coolq Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 would a faulty dett sensor cause the car to run rich, also once bypassed will the timing go back to normal as i run an EBC. Quote
vodkashots Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 are you sure your not getting DET? and that the sensor is working fine. my cylinder 6 piston has a whole in it, most likely caused by det in that cylinder, creating a hot spot on the piston and eventually melting through it. Id make sure its not DET first before doing the by pass. what fuel are you running as some of the normal 95ron stuff can cause det to occur. You will also need to reset the ECU as you will most likely be running safety boost (unless yours is a N/A) Quote
Coolq Posted May 22, 2011 Author Posted May 22, 2011 twin turbo with boost controller, im 100% its not getting dett as i get code 34 which from reading on here means no signal from dett sensor, not actual det. its the wire itself causing me greif as sometimes with a little wiggle and reset the code goes away. and the actual plug itself doesnt stay connected. jimmer Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Code 34 is a fault code,if the car detects detonation is does not register a code 34 it retards the timing and drops to a knock map if the ecu has one (some chips dont) which increases fuelling for engine protection. Quote
