Guys,

Sorry about this, but I'm a little confused. Does traction control basically stop the power to the engine when any of the rear wheels lose grip? I'm not really a fast (not that fast) driver but when pulling out of junctions, the rear has slipped out a few times, so would this help with that?

Also, is is the racelogic adjustable tc we get for £470??

Sorry to be thick

Vijay

470.00 incl for the adjustable.....

Johnny.. we need to talk!

;-)

Johnny, Craig, Andy,

Please take this as a confirmed "order" for an adjustable unit.

How do we progress this? Do we 'phone Johnny with card details......?

Thanks, Geoff

How's that monster Z running??

Have you solved the hesitation at 7500rpm?

;-)

Steve

Johnny,

Sent you mail

OK guys, no excuses now. I've found THE DEFINATIVE guide to putting traction control in a Z. Go to:-

http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/tc/tc.html

Some others may already have seen this but I thought I'd share it with everyone. Gives full breakdown with ecu connections etc - now who's gonna pay to have it fitted?????!!!! :)

Andy

i recently called and placed my order with Johnny, and he informed me that this price INCLUDES launch control as well...

mega deal !!

he is keeping the buy open until sometime next week, when all cards and cheques have cleared.

Call him, place your order, and give him your address.

He may have to charge for shipping. If so, then anyone down south can have their unit shipped with mine and we'll split the postage, just come and get it from my place in Sutton ;)

Craig, don't forget to mention that launch control only works on the real drivers Z.... oops! I mean the manual Z ;-)

Steve

Steve,

Why is that? How do you operate the launch control?

I would like to use it with my auto. I heard you can program the launch RPM.

I thought of programming it just below my torque conv. stall RPM.

Maciej

Maciej,

The launch control is a limiter on the rpm's which allows you to depress the accelerator fully to the floor.

The rev's won't pass the limit set and this also allows the boost pressure to rise a few psi because of the vacuum.

When the clutch is released and the drive is engaged then the traction controls the power to the wheels for a perfect launch.

(well that's the theory!)

Maybe you could operate the launch control just below your TC stall point with your brakes on?

I think you would need a high stall point for the engine to build boost though ??

Maybe speak to Racelogic technical on this one Maciej :-)

Steve

For some reason I thought that launch control couldn't be used on an auto, but I can't find where I read it now. Can anyone verify this ?

Steve,

My torque converter has a flash stall speed of 3000 RPM.

When I launch I have to watch out as to not exceed this RPM so the wheels start spinning.

I could definitely use the launch control.

Is there a launch button you press before launching or what?

Maybe this has to be wired to the clutch pedal switch

and that's why they say that it can not be used on autos?

If that's the case, I'll come up with something...

Maciej

Maciej,

there is a nice green button for the launch control.

It doesn't connect into the clutch switch so I 'think' that it most operate / release on wheel movement??

I'll dig out my user instructions and let you know by email.

Steve

Maciej,

I just had an email from Bernie Hsaio who is the U.S distributor for Raclogic.

He dooesn't say it can't be done but thinks that the revs couldn't be set high enough to build the boost with the torque converter engaging.

If your TC has a 3000rpm stall limit then maybe this would be the minimum.

As the launch control option is in the GB price you may aswell get it and be the first to use it on an auto ;-)

Don't forget....you already won the 1/4 run at Zandvoort without launch control and only running on 1.5 turbos - lol

Steve
