pads for R33 GTR calipers

After lots of changing my mind about what brake setup to get I have finally got a good deal on a front Brembo set from a R33 GTR - paid £300 which I thought was fair :hyper:

Discs are corroded but no real wear lip so should be able to skim those on my brake lathe at work.

Just need some pads - any recommendations? Not doing track work just a good fast road pad needed.

sounds like a good deal Paul,

How much bigger are R33 discs? Do they require a relocating bracket (calipers)? And how many pistons in the calipers?

Can't help with pads i'm afraid - i'm still deciding what setup to run too...

well done on the purchase

cheers - discs from the R33 GTR are 324mm with 4 pot calipers that bolt straight on to the Z32 hub so a good upgrade for us.

Have been looking for a while but many of them are listed for around £500 which I think is way too steep for a second hand set of brakes!

Will give them a good clean up & post some pics once installed :)

Sounds like a worthwhile upgrade..

thats nearly 50mm more than standard, all that extra leverage must do something worthwhile. I'll bear this in mind..

Thanks bud

No worries - quite a few members are running this as an upgrade & is supposed to be very good. Just shop around to get a good price as otherwise by the time you get the calipers & allow for discs & pads if you need those you are getting almost up to the price of a set of K Sports or similar!

Ferrodo DS2500 - Often presumed a Track pad, but they are excellent for road use. They still bite better than oem when cold, and are amazing when hot. Pricey though.

They are the most popular brake upgrade on the Z, a very good fast road setup.

yea, I know the DS2500's are a good pad - like you say very pricey at around £140 for the set. Have you heard of Dixcel pads - supposed to outperform the Ferodo with less brake dust that are supposed to be a problem with these.

Have also found some Brembo pads quite cheap: http://www.lkperformance.co.uk/Brake_Pads/Brembo_BrakesBrembo_Standard_Brake_Pads_Front_Nissan_Skyline_-_R32_R33_GTR_1995_-_1998/274784?carId=179429

Only thing is they are listed as R32/R33 GTR pads & I thought the R32 only had stock brake setup not Brembos?

Paul give Apex performance a bell for GTR pads, never seen them sold as cheap as this guy and he used to supply me! Ferrodo with those brembo's are pretty good tho..

Yep GTR32 is different to GTR33.
