Ok image quality isn't the greatest as it was taken with the iphone. finally finished my home cinema, with a HD 1080i projector and it looks effing amazing at night with a 82" screen, it will go bigger but i would need a longer distance between the projector and the wall its being projected onto. (42" plasma can just been seen at the bottom of the picture), image quality at that size is still bloody awesome due to the 1080i you out put to it. currently wired up to my PC

But movies are awesome at that size at night.

Now just need to get some darker curtains for daytime use and get my self a electric Projector screen, then happy days.

Nice!!! love it, I`ve just sold a huge electric remote conrol projector screen on flea bay, ha, you dont want to know that do ya?? get on cod with it, its fab

Its really hard to get a good photo from a projector for some reason, but i can agree with you they are awesome!

I couldn't help but notice a suspicious looking bottle on the bottom left of the picture (presumably half full of moisturising/lubricating fluid). Wonder what other advantages viewing internet content on a screen that size can offer?

I'm the process of putting in a cinema room/office and looking to do the same thing. What type of projector did you buy? Seen some on ebay but I dont have a clue as what to go for.

If you want it for movies, then 1080i is a must, and make sure its got HDMI input, use a separate sound system, preferably 5.1, unless your room allows for a 7.1 set up, make sure the seating area is central to the speakers and set them up properly, you want the fronts and rears at ear height, bass box is omnidirectional, so doesn't matter where you put it.

When setting the surround sound up, sit in the seat your going to be listening from, and set it up from there, the center speaker will out put the talking and music mainly.

For a projector though, 1080i, or 1080p, with good luminosity. also check how much a replacement lamp will be, as some can run into a few hundred quid for 2000 hours lamp life (around 80 odd days if its on full time) and make sure its a projector with good ventilation as the bulbs run really hot, and most bulb failures are due to over heating.

can you use projectors for the likes of xbox/ps3/pc gaming

Yes mate, I often set one up at the youth centre and the kids play COD and FIFA. Very Cool.

oooh yes, need for speed Shift 2, looks awesome, as does crysis 2, to be honest, there really isnt that much that doesnt look good on the thing lol

even my xbox 360 looks awesome now ive fixed the bloody thing, (not reading disks)

i have the same thing, and films are absolutley awesome mine is 100 inches 1080i hd , best few hundred quid on a tele i ever spent, i think mine is due a bulb change in the next few months tho. :D

How much would a decent setup cost? Would you use a proper screen or a white wall? What are they like in daylight?

day light? lol unless you have pitch black curtains to draw, bloody useless. but once you darken that room, its cinema time :D

Mackam, it would be 100", but i cant get the projector back that far in my living room, unless i have the screen in front of the curtains, then i could fill the whole wall
