Well, as im now national events organizer, id like to get some of the large events organized for us as a club to go to next year.

It will need the support of everyone for this to happen, as what happens at the moment, is we get a event advertised, people say they are going and then some pull out at the last min, some just don't turn up. and it ends up with just a small group of us there.

After JAE and I've had the chance to settle in and meet people at JAE. it will be nice to organize some events and club meets to bring us all together before JAE, i know some cars are not available over the winter period, and some are off the road due to modifications or repairs. but would be nice if we started all grouping together every once in a while (other than JAE) to share our passion for the 300zx, and get us good numbers in the jap car scenes. this will only work if everyone helps it to work.

Anyway, enough rambling from me, hope people agree to this and help me move it along in the direction id like it too, as i think it will be good for the club, good for everyone on here, and good for the 300zx.

Regards

All ideas are welcome matey, and was looking into sorting something out where we can have one club meet down south, then one in the middle (most likely leave that for JAE though as its central) and then one up north.

to be honest rob, seems to be a lot of events we should be going to as a club and making a presence, the 300zx doesnt seem to be being represented like the skylines, 200sx's and honda's / mazdas and such. which is a real shame as we have the better looking car lol

I think when a lot of us have our cars finished, there will be a fair few more faces for meets, i think getting the club into other major or smaller events can only be a good thing. It will raise the profile of the Z32 and the club plus raise member sprirts/enthusiasm further and give members some markers to aim for showing off their cars.

there were two other zeds there, nither of them wanted to join the club, one because hes screwed jeff over and owes him money (ill be talking to jeff about this later, not that itl do a lot of good, he seemed really proud of the fact too!!!!)

and the other just wasent interested, but to be fair he seemed light a right aggressive chav, didnt seem to like me looking at his car, AT A CAR SHOW!!!!!

was decent day though, thanks to 300zx_666 and jnr, but woulda been a whole lot better if a few more of you guys were there!!!

hold on, what? i need to show my car off? no one said anything about that in the job discription?

Naa, cant wait, its coming together pretty good to be honest. just got the body work and some engine bling to sort out, and to be honest she done. (yes yes, we all say that i know) lol

Well just a thought why dont you hold 4 club meets a year, once a quater kind of thing. I do think the biggest problem with 300zx's is due to them being pretty rare it makes it hard for us to meet due to distance, lack of members and cars being off the road etc skylines and 200sx's and so on are common cars so easier to get lots of members in one place. Joys of being in an exclusive club so to speak!

I think what you meant to say was,

"Well just a thought, why dont you hold 4 club meets a year, once a quarter kind of thing. i do think the biggest problem with the 300zx, is how thirsty it is. i mean i cant go to the shops with out spending NASA's space shuttle budget on petrol, if we all moved closer together, say middle of the country, it would be a lot easier than everyone being dotted around all over the place and complaining about the price of fuel. other cars like the 200sx's and the skylines are plentiful and they don't have such high running costs as parts are common as muck, so they don't care if the thing breaks on the way to a meet, aah the joys of being part of an exclusive club so to speak!"

:tt2: i got over 300 miles today!!!! first time ever though lol

but it is difficult being such an exclusive club to get meets together, but i think a couple of big meets a year is a good idea for sure, somewhere in the midlands to make it fair i guess, maybe it would be a good idea to get everyones postcodes and peg them on a map, then see where is most central for everyone??

You dont see 300zx's on the road near me.

Other than mine, i hadn't seen one for months, if not years!

Last weekend i saw one, and this weekend there has been one parked up round the corner from me.

Plus mines on the road (kind of).

I think they are getting more popular. Gone from ageing supercars, to classic kind of thing if you ask me.

we have got 10 zeds going to the knockhill show next weekend thats a massive jump in numbers for us lol would be good in the future if some from down south come up to really push the numbers up

i would happily join for knockhill, but im off to get another forum members car sorted out with a working gearbox. so we have another member with a working car again :D

this is a good idea but the location will have to be moved all the time to make it fair on others. im sure people in cornwall would love to go to meets every other month or so but with the price of fuel this could cost well over £200 just in fuel and isent possible for some. maybe most. i personally would go to every meet possible but i simply cant afford to go too far in my car currently and i think this is killing most meets. swopping the area might be a start to help but i think your going to have to think of somthing better to keep people coming to them.

i fully understand what your saying there matey, and if you read what ive put, its basically the same thing, we don't own super economical cars, and paying a large amount of cash for 1 day of fun is a bit too much to ask people and i wholeheartedly agree.

May be we could incorporate technology into the mix and have live video meets lol, everyone goes to there nearest local meet and we set up streaming live video at all of them and have some mug....i mean someone walking around with a camera, mike and TV strapped to them.

surely there's gotta be more willingness though to attend meets. it wasn't long ago that someone posted saying "what does the club do?" and im trying to help address that issue, but for all the arranging i can make, if the people don't turn up, then its not going to happen. i think it might be an idea if i get post up about how far people are willing to travel. to get an idea of our radius for a quarterly club meet.

hats off for trying buddy. good luck. i really hope you can sort summit out :)

Its ok, i have my shootgun, and know where you all live  :2guns: lol

im only joking by the way, dont want people taking me serious on that comment. i only know where a few people live (daz, baz, groover, richardsmith )

Its good to see a more proactive approach to the clubs NEO position, and future events & meets. Hats of to you.

Can I suggest us getting more involved in other large regional events, such as Japfest. There is also japfest 2, held at Santa Pod as well.

The club used to work closely with Zclub in event participation, and attended a lot more Events until a few years ago.

It would be great to have the club more involved in popular events that other clubs attend, for the benefit of the club and its members.

Well said i agree with this. Why try to arrange meets when there are all ready events we could be attending and help raise the forum's profile and hopefully bring new members to the site.

As a forum we could do things like meet at go kart tracks and do an endrance event so that people are not traveling all that way for a chat but are actually taking part in something.? Could do paint balling etc etc.

If you think my intention was to just do a big meet every few months or so, so we can just sit around a pub table and chat like old friends with the cars all lined up in the carpark, you are very much mistaken me old chappy (lol that comes across like im having a go, its not meant to  i just cant really word it any other way)

Considering im right in race country, ive got santa pod just down the road, as well as donington park, rockingham speedway, silver stone, plus there is finmere, with my friend who runs paintballing AND airsofting behind finmere market at the old runway, not to mention, im only 7miles from JAE's site

It would be nice to get a lot more attending at this years JAE, so i can talk to the membership and get instant feed back and ideas, even if your zed is off the road, you can still go like i did, it just means that you wont be able to park your car on the JAE site, there is a carpark provided onsite for non jap cars, BUT you can still set up your tent around the stand, there is also a park for the children to get involved and have something to do if you bring them.

But the more people from 300zx.co.uk we have a JAE the better its going to end up being in the long run, as we can have a good old chin wag about what people are happy with doing as a club.
