Hi, I'm considering a good brake upgrade, I'd like to receive your experience about all the kit available.

1)Ap racing kit: the best probably, but too expensive.

2)Stopteck kit: perhaps one of the best, I'd like it, but it's expensive ($.2000)

3)K-sport/D2 racing 330-356 front, from uk seller: Tuv certified (in case of homologation like special car in Germany). about £849, fits on 17"-18".

4) Akebono kit front from CZP: it uses the same calipers of 370Z with 14" rotors, it seems pretty but I think the pads are the same (dimensions) of the OEM 300zx calipers, so I'm not sure about the convenience. $1200 front kit, fits on 18" with good clearance.

5) Custom kit with Brembo calipers 6 pot (like Porsche or Audi) with 356mm rotors: to do personalized brackets, don't know about clearance with 18", may need 19", don't know costs.

6) Wilwood calipers with 345 rotors.

Which front kit do you suggest?

Is it recommended also rear kit (street and sometimes track day) or not? On D2 racing they suggest both (with rotors at same dimensions) because the percentual of breaking is 70-30.

I know that K-sport/ D2 racing are available in 30 days usually.

You could also use some calipers from an Evo 8 they are Brembo`s, quite a few lads on here have them fitted including me, but they do need an adaptor bracket , they make awesome brakes for the z32

Madmax has some stopteck brakes fitted they look great but dont know how good they are at stopping the car, I assume they will be awesome too

i've got ksport's at the front only and can vouch for the quality, they are superb at braking . Have them for more or less a year and they are basically the same still , they last ages and i've used the zed quite a bit during the year !

Im also planning on fitting the rears this year but its incredible how much of improvement i got from just the fronts .

Is that right - brake balance 70/30 front/rear?

Quite suprised by that!

its like that on most road cars.

Some one on here has Astonmartin calipers and disks, it looks fantastic and bet it stops well as well.

Id like to upgrade to some brembo's

I thought a rwd car would have a bit more rear bias like 60/40 front/rear..

Guess you don't have to be quite so lavish with the rear spec in that case!

I have 356mm Ksports all around and they are amazing and for the price you cannot go wrong. The braking force i have on these are amazing.

I had brembos as stock on my fiat coupe (4 pots) they were also very very good but know where near as good as the ksports. I can also out brake my mate evo 8 that also has brembos just to give an idea :)
