Fitting Braided Brake Lines...

Hello all,

I'm alittle bit stuck here, i own these lines and i tried fitting them to the car today. Of course going into the Caliper i will need a 12mm Bolt or something simultor i thought (I have R33GTR Bembo Calipers) and all i have is these connections on the end?

Do i need some bolt or some adaptor to make them work??

Thanks in advance

Those lines don't connect directly with the calliper mate. They replace the rubber hose between the hardline going into the calliper and the brake hardlines. I think DTA were they only ones that connected direct to the calliper. You will need to make a short brake pipe that goes from the calliper to the new lines.

my standard calipers already had a short section of copper pipe fitted, so my lines just bolted between the original pipes and the smaller caliper pipes.

If yours doesn't have the pipe coming off the caliper then i would get a small pipe made up at a garage or do it yourself if you have the kit?

Either way im sure you'll probably need a bit of copper pipe around 10" or so with a male connector on each end

So there is no point in having braided lines as i still have to use cooper made lines anyway? Currently i have a new made brake line on my caliper and its leaking everywhere, is there no way i can just get a bolt made and directly connection them? Or will i have issues with length?

The main idea is to eliminate the flex in the rubber hose by replacing with the SS ones. The copper pipe doesn't flex so no need to replace with stainless. As mentioned you will need to make up a small brake line to connect the two. If the brake line is leaking and you flanged it properly then it should just need tightening up. Take the pipe off and check that the flange is ok and hasn't split, if ok put on and really tighten it.

I see, so i will need 4 pieces of cooper piping made (Front and Rears) with 2 bolts on the end to attach to the braided hosing, will they be ok to attach to the line which comes to the ABS? I didn't see if it was a Male or Female adaptor on it :(,

Thanks for info so far mate

You don't need anything extra made up, they fit exactly where the current rubber hose is, to the same connections.

Caliper >>> metal pipe >>>> braided hose >>>> metal pipe

Some go straight to caliper like my goodridge hoses and some go to the metal pipe like yours.

If that new piece you got made up is leaking then yeh do as Steam said and check the flare was done properly.

I can pop up and help but not till after 17th :(
